“Zahira” by BR1 – New artist residency

We are happy to announce our collaboration with BR1, a street artist based in Turin, active in the Italian and International art scene.
We worked very close to produce a limited edition screenprint. Zahira is a woman with veil, who give us an opportunity to reflect on current highly debated issues such as integration, human rights and diversity.
It’s a five layers hand pulled screenprint on 100% cotton paper, size 50x70cm, edition of 25  and it will be released on our webstore on 8th March.

The project is not only the return of an artist residency, it is also the first collaboration to support “Ozanam house”, a former industrial building located in the Borgo Dora, district of Turin, transformed into a reality for the promotion of social interventions / projects .

During the artist’s residence we spent a lot of time discussing about human rights and we thought to give a tribute to the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. We decided to give a copy for free to anyone who will buy the print. It is a playback of the original Manifesto, a very important actual reading.

A part of the profit will be donated to the APP association (Association Pakistan Piedmont) to sponsor an Italian language course for Pakistan women.
A special thanks to the ERI association (European Research Institute) that takes care of the hospitality work for immigrants at the Via Foligno, Casa Ozanam – Turin, site.
